Objective: A old local herbalist needs an ingredient. Meet with him and then go to the top of the Mountain and find the Silverfish Herb for him to make the Cure!

Reward: 100j and a single-use herb that allows you to talk to plants for one thread.

Yesterday had been an eventful day for Taichi, but he was well rested after a long nights sleep. He had slept in until 9AM and had headed to the guild after taking a shower. There was no kitchen or food in his house so he hadn’t eaten yet, but he figured he’d eat something at the guild, or buy something at the bakery on his way to the mission. He had been back in Magnolia for a full day and two nights already, but hadn’t visited the guild in all that time so he was in high spirits to enter the trusted building again.

He opened the doors with a big grin on his face and took a moment to take it in before loudly blowing his whistle, the large hall amplifying the sound. “Gooood morning Fairy Tail! Taichi’s back!”

It appears the whistle caught most of the attention, some members complaining to each other that he did this every time, while others simply face palmed or rolled their eyes. Then there were of course those who didn’t bat an eye, and those who were happy to see him and greeted him warmly.

Without further ado and with a jump in his step he made his way to the mission board and started eyeballing the easy and lower ranked missions. Reading was not his hobby so he took his time to read through some of them, his hungry stomach not agreeing with him as a loud growl emitted from his abs.
His cheerful expression died down a little from hunger, but deciding on a mission was no easy feat. He always aimed to go to new and interesting places so he could meet new and interesting people, but most missions of his rank required of him to stay within the vicinity of Magnolia. The only remotely promising mission was a handwritten note that read something about a herbalist needing a special ingredient, and special ingredients meant he might have to travel somewhere exotic!

NOTES: FAIRY TAILU MADOUSHIIIIII

Momoe was enjoying his tea as peacefully as possible in the rabble rousing Guild known as Fairy Tail. Coarse, faint sips echoed from his position. Usually someone was always chattering loudly, or even breaking out into fights. Such things annoyed the rather quiet boy, who kept his distance from everyone else. The peace was quickly shattered with obnoxious screech of air from such the tiny whistle, a rather dead eerie stare placed on Taichi from a far. The sound made him flinch, and cringe. The boy mumbled a few insults under his breath while he continued to enjoy himself. He had little time to deal with any complaining as he had jobs to do as per an agreement. Finally, he tilted his cup upwards and chugged the little remaining bit of his luke warm beverage.

Standing up the Wizard walked towards the board, every step carried a certain rattle at his side. Wordlessly he stood next to Taichi observing the board had his sights on the same one. His lithe hand reaching out to snatch it from the board, unknowing that Taichi might have been looking at it as well. Clearly he seemed intent on doing the mission, but it was then he noticed that Taichi was looking at the same thing.

Saying nothing, Momoe opted to stare at Taichi deeply. With a stare that was eerie, and strange. Unwelcoming, yet not aggressive.

Just as he had decided to take on the mission a hand snatched the note from the board, ripping it from under the pin. Taichi looked at the culprit, which was apparently a new wizard! It was either that or they somehow managed to escape each other over the years. He wasn’t intending on giving up his chance to possibly travel somewhere exotic though, and continued to stare at the paper so that the boy would notice and hopefully offer the mission to him. Though when he was finally noticed the other spoke to him with body language instead of words.

Taichi didn’t see the eerie stare for what it was, but instead saw an adorable pouting face. Was it a girl? He looked further down at his clothes, concluding it was definitely a boy. He was both disappointed and relieved. Disappointed because he would’ve loved it if the list of cute female fairy tail wizards grew even larger. And relieved because it was a little frustrating to go on missions with fairy tail girls, because of his no flirting with family rule. Not that he wasn’t interested in other guys from time to time, there just wasn’t sexual tension like he had with girls which had his preference in general.

He greeted the other mage with a warm smile “You must be new!”

Another loud growl escaped his hungry stomach. Without wasting any more time he wrapped arm around the other wizard to guide him away from the mission board and headed towards the guild entrance. “I’m tagging along with this one if you don’t mind, I’m Taichi by the way. Nice to meet you!”

Momoe was indeed new to the guild, he was made a part of the guild under a certain condition of course. He looked over the job, assuming it to be easy. But, then it seemed another boy had his sights on it. He had slowly gotten the hang of the missions being on his own now. He was sure he didn't need anyone for now. He'd look over at Taichi, making a disgruntled little snort at his words, not answering his question. When touched he shuddered, and quickly sought to get away from the boy. He did not take kindly to be touched!

"Whatever..." he responds to his claims, as he reads over the paper, and passes it over to Taichi. He'd then walk past him and grabbed onto a pack, slinging it over his shoulder. Slowly he'd amble over towards the door without another word. Clear disgust was shown in the way he walked, and talked. He was not happy to be here, or be a apart of this guild. Which was odd given the rabble rousing guild Fairy Tail ended up being. Though, when it came to having a harsh past he fit right in with the lot.

As he ended up the the door he looked behind him, "Coming?" he asks with a rather subtle tone, even his voice had a rather distinct androgynous to it, making it hard to tell if it really was a boy.

It appeared the blond haired mage was not too excited about going on a mission together. Taichi was being too close up in other people’s personal space again, which was clear from how familiar he was behaving around this new boy. Of course he didn’t realize this, and was confused as to why the other was so eager to get away from him. He stopped in his tracks as the boy moved away from him, not understanding why the other was apparently not happy to meet him in return. “Or not..”

He wondered about this as the boy continued to walk to the door without him. However, his doubts were erased when the other asked if he was coming, which to him was a sign that everything was fine. He figured the other mage was probably having a bad day or something.

He smiled, exited to go on this mission, which was clearly visible as he made his way to the front door to exit. As they exited the guild door they walked into the city of Magnolia side by side, Taichi’s attention focused on the piece of paper. “We need to go to Sciliora Street 8, probably near Sciliora lake.”

Taichi put the paper into the pocket of his white pants, and smiled widely at the other mage “So! What’s your name? We’re going on a mission together after all, I should at least know what to call you”

Momoe was complete and utterly bitter, his face showed the lack of wanting to be here let alone going on a mission with some loud mouth. He was oblivious to Taichi's pondering about the close off Mage, and he could care less what he thought about him once he got a good idea just what he was like. Though, he needed the money and he was not about to argue over the mission. Half pay was better than none, that was for sure. To his statement, he nodded. "I know .. I read it before you even had your hand on it ..." he comments, salt laced in his words from his obvious statement. Annoyed he even brought it up.

Each step brought a healthy little jingle of his keys, as he came to a stop to his question. "Does it matter?" he asks plainly, in return to his name being asked. Knowing that his type was the type to quickly get angry at him for being like he was. Knowing he'd soon hate his entire existence soon enough with a little push, and a few sly comments. Not even bothering to meet any gaze with the boy, he only continued walking, hoping he'd keep up. But, his ears were peaked for a response.

The boy was in a foul mood, that much was clear, but Taichi didn’t take it personal. He played it off with a mischievous smile. “Now you’re just being weird. Of course it matters! We’re in the same guild after all, so it’s unacceptable for me not to know your name”

It did bother him that the other avoided even looking at him, it made him doubt whether it was something personal after all. He was an optimist though, so he brushed his doubt aside and tried to turn his frown upside down. He was sincerely concerned about the other’s wellbeing, but was also trying to be comedic in cheering him up. “Hey, life’s too beautiful to be making such a miserable face. What’s bugging you?”

But before the other could answer the scent of freshly baked croissants entered his nostrils from the bakery ahead. His mouth immediately started to water, his stomach starving for food. “Hold that thought, you can tell me over breakfast! My treat”

Taichi was a rather generous person when it came to treating others, it was also why he was always low on cash, spending all his money on rent, food and dates there was little left for any extra’s. That said he ran over to the bakery, and with a stupidly happy face waved at Momoe to come into the shop with him.

Momoe made a slight scoff at his question, his entire presence utterly annoyed him. Yet, here he was going on a mission knowing it was an unfavorable idea. "It doesn't matter ..." he repeats to the boy this time when asked what his burden was, as he makes a slow stop to get a good gaze over him. Reassuring himself of his previous, cynical thoughts he had. Judging him all over again, and making the very same assessment. "But, I'm Momoe ..." he answers, finally. In a tone that made it seem like a chore just to tell him his name. Maybe it would make him be quiet for a change.

His eyes trailed over to the boy as he reacted to his stomach so easily, almost like a feral beast without worry. Raising a brow he peered upon the rather pricey bakery. Though, not entirely expensive, eating out was something the boy could not afford on his salary. As he entered the bakery, the fragrance of tooth numbing sweets and coffee filled the air, it made him gulp as he realized just how hungry he was.

"Do they have a cake-like doughnut, maybe...? And Coffee ... Large and black." he murmurs in a rather childish tone, all of the sudden he seemed a tad warmer.

Not waiting for the other he practically rushed into the store and pressed his face against the glass see through counter. The woman behind it had just refilled the croissants section, which is why that scent traveled through the street. Inside he smelt a lot more sugary items as well, but his stomach was yearning for the crunchy yet fluffy pastry. He was almost crying with joy at the prospect of delicious food, and was kindly asked by the lady behind the counter to not press against the glass. He apologized and stood up straight again, the door making a sound as it opened, Momoe entering the shop.

Taichi was glad the boy took up on his offer, and even more glad he knew what he wanted right away. He winked at the cashier “You heard the man! And I’ll have.. five chocolate croissants, and a glass of milk!”

She giggled when he mentioned he wanted milk, it a bit unusual, but they were a bakery so they did have it. They just didn’t have it on the menu for drinks, but she made an exception for him and started collecting the items they ordered. “Is it for on the road?”

“Nope, we’ll eat it here”

She put everything on a tray, the food items on plates, but some of his croissants fell onto the tray because of the plate’s size. “That will be twelve jewels please”

Taichi reached into his pocket and handed over the money, then grabbed the tray and gave his thanks to the lady. He walked to a table with care, having to gulp in order to not drool over the food. He put down the tray and sat down, the cushion on the chair soft and comfortable. Finally, food! Nothing could ruin his mood now.

“Cheers!”

Was all he said before he started devouring the croissants, having messy eating habits and simply didn´t think about how that would affect others.

"Why did I tell this loser my name? I don't plan on being in Fairy Tail much longer ..." he thought to himself, looking at Taichi's 'dumb' face he had on him. The optimistic, loving life kind of look made him want to puke and it showed on his face with a mean grimace. Before Momoe could speak about a To-Go Order, he spoke over him. He was forced to spend time with Taichi further. A little grumble escaped him as he looked at his meal. Before him a rather cakey doughnut, far from actual fattening stuff was presented to him. As well as his bitter coffee for how bitter he felt.

Maintaining his unhappy look all the way to the table he'd nibble into his doughnut, taking super small bird-like nips into them. Not to mention the pace he ate at was akin to a snail, almost disturbingly so. Nibble, Nibble, Nibble.

For awhile he was staring, then he'd look away to see the streets of Magnolia. There was something about watching faces pass while sipping calmly on his coffee. A little amusing thing that always crossed his mind as a kid ... People. But, slowly bitter thoughts arise to counteract those ones.

It didn’t take long for Taichi to consume his food, and afterwards he gulped down his entire glass of milk, then put it down as if he had just chugged a large pint of beer. His expression was pure satisfaction “Ah!”

The boy before him did not appear to be in a happy or satisfactory mood. Clearly something was bugging him. Taichi observed, wondering about what went through this new kid’s mind. Aside his name he didn’t know anything about him. He was a mystery, and it tickled his curiosity. He clapped his hands together, happy to have eaten and eager to get to know Momoe. “Let’s get to know each other a little better! I’ll go first”

He would have preferred to bombard him with questions straight away, but the mage seemed troubled so he didn’t. He leaned his arms on the table, his head resting in his left hand and weight distributed on his left elbow. “Let’s see, I’ve been in Fairytail for how long… five years or so? Yeah probably.”

He sat up straight again, arms remaining on the table though. “I love animals, avocado’s and beautiful women! But I don’t discriminate handsome men either”. He ended the sentence with a wink, not intending to flirt or anything since he assumed Momoe to be much younger than himself.

His eyes rolled up, thinking about what more he could tell about himself. They rolled back when he recalled it. “And I use body link shield, a defense magic, though it doesn’t really look like a shield or anything. How about you? I mean I already know you’re new, but why did you join fairytail?”
