((Thank you to whoever may take the time to look at my profile. I'll admit immediately that my experience with Fairy Tail is loose, to put it lightly. I took a lot of liberties with things that are not exclusively known in the canon--as far as I could find--so as to give myself wiggle room to not bump against concepts I was unfamiliar with too harshly. Let me know if any or everything needs changed. I tried my best not to step on the toes of things already established but I've no doubt I've done it somewhere. Otherwise, please let me know if my magic is a bit of a whiff also. To my surprise, a system as open as the magic in Fairy Tail was actually giving me problems trying to find something that suited me. Thanks again for your time!))
Name: Randy J. Savage
Nickname: Fist Mage
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Blood Type: A+
Level: D ((S in her heart))
Guild: Unaffiliated
Skills:
Skill Name: Dexterous Strength
Description: Randy is a paragon of martial prowess. Having been raised and trained in the military all of her life, she has nearly always been in apex form. Using no weapon, she has always considered the body the most trustworthy and optimal weapon. As such, she takes exceedingly good care of it.
Skill Name: Super Armor
Description: Part of her military training focused particularly on withstanding blows and forces that would floor a regular person. This isn’t to say she is immune to damage by any means, simply that a strong blow that may knock another to floor, Randy would be able to stand through.
Skill Name: Magic Hands
Description: Because of the nature of the magic Randy wields, she is very practiced in the handling and destruction of magic items. Merely by touch she is usually able to discern what kind of magic an item is (unless it’s far above her rank). Lastly, magic items of her rank that she is able to get her hands on can be "turned off" for a short duration based on the quality of the item. This can not be done back to back and, for the most part, is left to the RP discretion of the character whose item is being disabled.
Description
Height:5’11”
Weight: 133
Appearance: Starting from the top, Randy’s hair is a vibrant red that hands loosely about her face and back. Normally left free, it tends to look like a brilliant splash of red that chases her as she fights. Her eyes are a bright, emerald green and always seem to flicker and flutter between different hues of green depending on their mood. Everyone has expressive eyes but she is especially bad at hiding her emotion, letting it always leak through her body language, hair, and eyes. When in a good mood they can look bright, vibrant, and almost hard to look directly in to because of her intensity. When downtrodden, their brightness falls substantially and could even come off as light gray in color.
Her body is lean and taught with tension. Having spent an entire life training, it comes through in the keen shape she keeps her body in. Particularly proud of her physique, Randy is never one to shy away from showing off or striking a pose. Her arms and legs are obviously muscular and her stomach is tone. Despite her training, she has always managed to keep a roundness in her face and figure to keep herself from looking too manly. On her body are a number of scars and magical burnings. Armor has never been part of her repertoire and she wears her battle scars proudly. Each one was earned by not shying away from battle.
Generally, her demeanor is fierce and her body language is bold. She holds herself with an air of unapproachability and tries her damnedest to give off a powerful aura. She draws attention to herself with loud and dramatic movements and stories. If in a crowd of people, Randy tries her best to make herself seem large and in charge. She’s definitely the kind of person that you can tell exactly how she feels before she ever says a word to you. Her voice has a sultry deepness to it, sounding a bit smokey. This tends to give her voice a commanding presence if she were to yell orders over a crowd.
Clothing for Randy tends to be simple. Form fitting clothes serve her best. Anything that clings close to her figure and does not reduce mobility is fantastic. There are times for fancy outfits, but her outlook in life has been molded to lean toward function over form. Combat boots and gloves lay under her gauntlets and greaves. Tight black pants case her legs. Her top is a bustier garnished with a leather coat over top. Most times, her entire outfit is black with silver belts and bands. Her bright red hair and vibrant eyes present an interesting contrast to the relatively colorlessness of the rest of her normal outfit.
Weapons:
Name: Savage Demon Gauntlets and Greaves
Description: Simple metal gauntlets and greaves that act as conduits to Randy’s magic. They offer no magical protection or offenses of their own, but are grooved with magical laylines that let Fist Magic course through and cover the weapons. In appearance they are a dark black and clawed, giving them an animalistic look. The lines in the weapons glow bright white when magic is coursing through them.
Armor:
Name:Ministry of Steel Leathers
Description: Leather armor that Randy has trained with all of her life. The leather is thick but pliable, as to provide ample range of motion and movement. The armor itself isn’t necessarily magic resistant, but they have been treated with retardant oils so as to not be conductive, flammable, or easily freezable. Would resist glancing blows from martial weapons but most likely not a direct hit.
Bio
Personality: Cool, level-headed and collected, Randy’s persona is the result of years of experience--forged out of the rebels of youth and the conflict of battle. Randy was a tomboy growing up. Out of both preference and how her father raised her she was always one to play in the mud, push around the boys, and pick up sports. Emotional, a loud laugher and an extrovert, she was the kind of person you would want to be around. The way she acts is almost split into two different peoples. Around family and friends, the ones she can let her guard down around, she’s affable, funny and a bit flirtatious. Whenever she’s leading a battalion or around her peers or someone that needs to be impressed she is pristine, professional, takes initiative, leads with a straight face and a hard attitude.
Overall, Randy experiences the normal ups and downs of life. She holds no deep, dark secret. She doesn’t brood, often, or hold any deep resentments. She’s usually fairly agreeable but does sometimes work in absolutes. There have been a couple times that she has had to act harshly, or make heavy decisions quickly but these moments don’t seem to wear heavily on her shoulders. Not that she is ignoring them, moreso that her upbringing as a soldier, in a family of soldiers, has hardened her to handle some darkness. Being able to react and make quick decisions about things others would consider “difficult” has left some to label Randy as heartless and morally bankrupt. In her own opinion, she simply deals with ideas quickly; things either are or they aren’t. There’s no sense in bush beating when you can just make a decision and stick to it.
Likes: Spicy foods. All through her life, Randy was raised on foods rich in sodium and spice. What would bring tears to the eyes of any normal person is a normal midday snack to the red headed woman. She has become quite the accomplished cook in her life and has made a habit of cookings foods out of the strangest magical creatures she can find. There’s something oh so satisfying about fighting a large monster to the death, only to cook and eat its power afterwards. Those who can handle the taste will tell you her cooking is fantastic. Usually, the flavor of spice is too overbearing for most.
Randy loves hunting down powerful mages and crushing them under her heel. Part of this is due to her upbringing with the Ministry of Steel. She has trained all of her life to hone her power near explicitly to hunt mages. From this, she has found that fighting particularly talented mages provides a rush like no other. Her own magic had always been considered simple and unpoetic by those that taught her. In a lot of ways, she was told, this helped to bring other powerful magics underfoot. Where others might rely on tricks of flashy powers to win fights, Randy relies on brute force and deliberate tactics.
Her last love in life in pushing her power to its true limits and discovering what depths and heights the human spirit can reach and transcend. Easily the most spiritual part of her life outlook, Randy believes this life is all simply a training ground to mold and reform the spirit. Taking a beating and stretching your wits thin always increases your resistance to such activities. This is why Randy does not shy away from pain, hardship, or difficulty. Every hard decision in this life is molding and grooming her spirit and soul to be more prepared in the next.
Dislikes: Indecision. Always the first to voice her opinion, she has a hard time dealing with wishy washy emotions or those that are uncertain of herself. Something she learned early in life was that even someone who held the wrong belief, if held strongly enough, could overpower one that was considered “right.” This has served to make Randy always have the utmost certainty and conviction in every decision of her life. This distaste has been reinforced by a lifetime of selective reinforcement.
Sweets. Syrups, sugars, and candies all make Randy sick to her stomach. The smell of sugar is enough to make her nauseous. The thought of the thickness of syrup easily makes her gag. Candy is essentially her Kyptonite and she would have a hard time ignoring the idea or taste if faced with it directly. Pretty much all candy is completely devoid of any sustenance. As far as she is concerned, not only are sweets disgusting but there is literally no reason to eat them.
Weak wills, crying, and otherwise whining. Throughout her life, the sounds of sadness have only ever served to grate on her nerves. Even if it’s simply a child who doesn’t know any better, the sound of crying sends chills of anger up and down Randy’s spine. She had always felt that sadness was a useless emotion; at least with anger it can be cultivated and focused to achieve a goal. Anytime she has ever seen sadness take hold of someone all it seems to do is shut them down and make them incapable of caring for themselves.
Jobs: Steel Ministry Ethernano Killer
History: Randy’s history is a fairly simple one. Growing up east of Fiore, Randy was born and raised in the continent of Bosco. Bosco itself is ran by a powerful monarch. There are no elections in Bosco as, legend has it, the monarch himself lives forever. Randy never cared enough to put a test to this rumor. She always assumed the title of Lord Monarch was just that; a title to be passed down to the Lord Monarch’s child in secret. Still, his legend was held as gospel in most of the land of Bosco and was quite a formidable legend at that. Supposedly, he had carved out some lost art that allowed him to make Bosco’s borders nigh impenetrable, protecting the nations on all sides. This secured his seat as Lord and he has held it ever since. In the land of Bosco, in place of guilds, they have noble house unions. Each union is like a small governing body that holds their own lands, castles, and armed forces. For the most part they battle amongst themselves in an attempt to secure magics, artifacts, and the most land. The Lord Monarch lets the house unions war amongst them self; he seems mostly occupied with keeping Bosco’s borders quiet. Also, he seemed entirely unthreatened by any force the house families could muster.
Beneath the Lord Monarch himself there are two major governing bodies; the Ministries of Steel and Cooper. The Ministry of Cooper has dominion over the general laws of the land and things concerning trade and money. They deal with issues of land, banking, loans, and trade business in, around, and outside of Bosco. The Ministry of Steel is the policing force of the land. Along with enforcing the laws of the Cooper Ministry, they have two main duties that are theirs alone; maintaining the religion of worshiping the Lord Monarch and stamping out Mage blood in lesser families. In the land of Bosco, ever since his rise to power, the Lord Monarch has made sure that any other religion or idolizing is focused on him and him alone. Beyond that, he has gone through great lengths to make sure that magic blood only flows through the families that serve royal duties; farmers and laborers are generally treated like slaves and are not allowed to have magic power of their own. The Savage Family has served in the Steel Ministry for generations and nearly every child has shown a propensity for magic. At a young age, Randy showed prowess in the magic line known as Fist Magic. This particularly type of magic was primarily used in the policing force. It’s practical application made sense for squashing out usurpers and those that would otherwise abuse the law. Her father was a military man himself and had served all of his life to maintain his family’s rightful place in the Steel Ministry. As Randy grew, her father made sure she was drafted into military service at the age of 6. In the Steel Ministry, children that are particularly talented can go to military school instead of regular study, essentially learning to police as early as they learn anything else.
Unlike most children put into this position, Randy did not spite her father for it. She relished the chance to prove herself and show her father she could not only fill his shoes but surpass him as well. Her knack for magic was uncanny, though it should be noted she is only particularly good at Fist Magic. No other type of magic seems to make as much sense to her. Originally, she thought herself a poor magic user. She much more preferred to rush into a fellow mage’s strike zone and beat his face in. It wasn’t until later in life, with training, that she realized she was subtly using her Fist Magic to deflect other magics while closing the distance. As she aged, she impressed her father and teachers more and more, her list of commendations growing longer and longer. Coming of age, Randy found herself recommended for the special Mage Killer program in her martial academy. There was always a need for foot soldiers and generals of course, but she was being groomed to be the bomb dropped in when things got ugly. Within the land of Bosco there were many insurrectionists willing to put up their life to try to take the Lord Monach down. It would be Randy’s job to take their lives that they were offering so freely. In this way, Randy was essentially training to be an assassin. This was something she saw as a fantastic opportunity and took to it amiably. This isn’t to imply that she is an evil person, she simply has pure faith in her government and family to do the right thing. Whenever she was sent into the slums of some kingdom in Bosco to stamp out a powerful insurrectionist mage, she paid no mind to the innocents that were in her way. In her mind, anyone that stood against the Lord Monarch--what she saw as a positive force for good--was simply a bad person that needed to be put down.
A few years of this work and Randy’s skills were put to the ultimate test. Somehow, the insurrectionists of Bosco managed to put together a big enough force to actually challenge the Ministry of Steel. The insurrectionists got a couple house unions behind them and, with this, were able to match the might of the Ministry. A full on civil war broke out; the insurrectionist incorrectly felt it was wrong to stamp out the magic in the lesser bloodlines. The full order of Steel Ministry Ethernano Killers, including Randy, mobilized into the back lines of the insurrectionists. On pure military might alone, the rebels could match the Lord Monarch’s army. But, they were no match for the highly effective training of the Mage Killers in the Steel Ministry’s forces. Randy and her fellow assassins were able to dismantle the insurgent forces from the inside out, beheading their source of leadership. Without their powerful leader in play, the armies themselves were in shambles and the Lord Monarch was able to secure his reign.
Randy’s part in all this was rewarded with a new and secret task; she was being deployed, alone, to the continent of Fiore. New intel had implied that the rebel fires in Bosco were being fanned by private interests in Fiore. She was to be dispatched and gather information from the major players and guilds in Fiore to try to find out who could possibly be behind this rebel movement. If she could destabilize some of the guilds while she was there then that would be all the better. She was to travel in secret and reveal her mission to no one. If caught by a governing body, Bosco would, of course, deny her existence. This was what she had been training for her whole life. Her chance to prove herself. Randy was ready.
Magic
Mage Type: Colloquially known as Fist Magic, the type of magic Randy does is not uncommon in her region of Bosco. As a matter of fact, it’s fairly common as a policing magic in the Ministry of Steel. This magic allows the user to summon their fists and legs as gigantic apparitions that smash the opposition. They manifest as large limbs and simply complete a motion before dissipating into the ether. If Randy were to throw a punch, a giant fist would appear and complete the motion with her, extending her range and area of effect, disappearing afterward. This power can be manifest in a number of ways. Large fists and kicks, smaller projectile fists, ruptures in the ground, and even as propulsion for a user to move themselves in the air through a strange “bunny hopping” type motion. This type of magic revolves around big shows of strength. There is very little finesse to the attacks and they are all quite straight forward.
Elemental Affinity: Metal
Example spells:
Spell Name: Infernal Alloy: Belzelk
Level: D
Range: 15m in range, 1m in diameter.
Description: The user summons a gigantic punch/kick that launches out to attack the opponent. The attack itself summons next to the limb of origin and only follows one simple motion. The user is NOT summoning an extra limb to control as they please, simply manifesting their attack on a large scale.
Drawback: Since the attack is quite large, it can be hard to hit with the spell if the target is near the caster. Also, this move does not necessarily grant the user more strength, just applying the strength relative to the size of the giant fist. At rank D, the user will not be able to rip down walls of a fortress just on the strength of this spell alone. The fists cannot summon at a distance, they must appear near the caster.
Spell Name: Infernal Alloy: Creed
Level: C
Range: 15m in range, 3m in diameter.
Description: The next level of this magic allows the user to summon larger fists and also lets the user manifest them out of the elements around them. Instead of making a gigantic fist to punch the enemy, they can form the ground into a large stone fist to strike out. This makes the user more adept at countering enemy elements.
Drawback: Same drawbacks as previous level and these fists share the weakness of whatever material they are summoned from also.
Spell Name: Infernal Alloy: Basteel
Level: B
Range: 25m in range, 8-10 in diameter depending on limb summoned. Capable of manifesting at a range of 35m
Description: This level increases the power of the magic and lets the user manifest large fists out of surfaces quite a distance from the caster, increasing their effective range.
Drawback: Same drawbacks as earlier levels with the increased issue of not being able to summon multiple limbs. As such, any fist summoned at range is one not summoned nearby for protection.
Spell Name: Infernal Alloy: Inquisitor
Level: A
Range: Self
Description: At this level the user becomes capable of summoning multiple arms or legs. One utilization of this technique is to summon multiple arms around oneself, complimenting a close range fighting style. Essentially, this allows the mage to fight with up to 6 arms at once!
Drawback: This particular spell holds no ranged capabilities. Primarily used for close range fighting, any kiting or attacks at range could neuter this technique.
Spell Name: Infernal Alloy: Thanos
Level: S
Range: 50m
Description: A user at this level is a true master, capable of not only summoning limbs, but maintaining constant control of arms and legs manifested at range. So, instead of just throwing one punch a user could control the limb and perform actions like grabs, twists, and throws.
Drawback: When summoning limbs at range, the user must focus on controlling them. If attacked up close or if their concentration is broken then they would lose control of the limbs, causing them to dissipate.
