Whistle While You Work [Open]

Phoebe entered quietly into the Guild Hall, opening and closing the large doors behind her without so much as a squeak from the hinges. She did not announce her presence as some others members might have done and instantly began to regret it. Few people noticed her silent arrival, but to those who did, she gave a grand smile and a small wave. They may not know me well now, she thought, smiling as she walked dreamily over towards the job board, but soon enough, all of Magnolia will know who I am! A fantastical scene began to play out in Phoebe's head. She came into the guild, just as she had done a couple minutes ago, but instead of being greeted with silence, everyone in the hall erupted with cheers. "Good work on saving that town!" someone from the crowd called. Another agreed and added, "I think I know who our next S-class wizard is!" Phoebe then smiled and laughed with glee, drinking in all of the praises. The same joyful expression she wore in her dream was painted on her face in the real world, and nearly anyone who could see would notice that she was somewhere far away despite her eyes scanning the board.

The blaring, sudden sound of a whistle awoke Phoebe from her dream. She glanced over her shoulder to see a young man dressed in dark green. He seemed familiar, but Phoebe could still not connect a name with the face. Not with this person nor many of the others scattered about the hall. This thought filled her with a bit of disappointment, but only for a split second before the feeling was replaced with one of determination: if people would not approach her, then she would approach them first! And she'd start with the guy with the whistle and green cloak!

Phoebe watched him move around for a while before mustering up the courage to begin moving her feet. She was nervous but also excited. Could this be her first actual friend in Fairy Tail? Or what if he was mean and hated her right from the start? She'd soon find out, for she was only a few feet away from him now. "Hi there!" Phoebe said with a wide grin. "That was really cool how you blew the whistle and everyone looked!" Her eyes flitted down to his necklace chain, and then returned to his face. "Where did you get it? Do you think I could get one too?"

The wide grin on Taichi’s face was one of pure satisfaction, no greater joy than to hear the large guild hall amplify the sound of his magnificent whistle. Of course not all could appreciate the sound, plenty of members complaining to each other about how he could never enter the guild hall like a normal person. Others could appreciate the liveliness of announcing oneself, after all the guild was known for having a lot of untamable members. His grin turned into a smile when the room calmed down, pleased with himself. Though he wasn’t quite sure what he came for anymore, so he had a puzzled look about him as he tried to remember it.

Blank, he had nothing. He almost wanted to turn back when a young girl approached him. He was surprised and observed her. She appeared to be a young teenager, wearing a pink dress that fitted nicely around her waist and widened from there. Her shoulder length hair was a dark purple and the top part tied in two high ponytails. She was by far one of the most adorable girls he had ever seen in the guild building. He held up his hand as a small waving gesture “Hi!”

What she said after was even better to him than the sound of his whistle, appreciation. Finally! He hadn’t met anyone who shared an interest in whistles before, so this was a moment he would never forget. This adorable girl coming up to him to inquire about an object that was worthless to anyone but him, or so he believed. He could hardly contain his happiness and took her hands into his own. “Where have you been all my life”

Of course, his words wouldn’t make much sense to anyone but himself, she probably didn’t know it was uncommon to share a fascination over whistles. He bent through his knees to level with her height and whispered in her ear, as if it were a top secret location that nobody knew of. “I got it at Life inc.”

Life inc. was a large sports shop in magnolia, which sold anything sports related, from equipment to clothes and even athlete lacrima’s. Taichi was very excited about her interest in whistles, gazing into her brown amber eyes with glee. “But you know what this means? I can finally convince Abel to request a manufacturing order for a Fairy Tail whistle!”

The sad truth was that it was going to take a lot more people for the shop representative to agree on manufacturing an item, but Taichi was always quick to get his hopes up. He was so excited that he almost forgot to introduce himself, still clueless on who’s hands he was even holding. Realizing that he let go of her. “Ah, where are my manners! I’m Taichi. Please tell me you’re a new member, if not I insist you join Fairy Tail at once”
