Bio

Naïve: escaping from getting tricked is not an option for Rik. He is too easily fooled and too good of faith, this makes him an easy target for manipulation and pranks.
Roughhousing type: boys will be boys, and this boy likes to compete with others. He is eager to win competitions and fights and will not shy away from a brawl. He’s not a sore loser either, it just makes him more determined to better himself.

Courageous: despite his insecurity he is determined to become someone admirable, and if fear were to strike him that determination will motivate him to do the right thing.
Lively: sitting quietly isn’t one of his strong suits. He likes to be on the move, engage in conversations with others, have fun. He also has a healthy dose of playfulness and curiosity like most children his age.
Clumsy: it has very little to do with motor skills, and a lot with a distracted mind. He will often forget to focus on what he was doing or switch to auto-pilot, and this usually ends up with him spilling his drink, bumping into something, or accidentally pull the wrong lever etc.
Likes: Swimming, competing and making friends.
Dislikes: Motion sickness, parting with friends, mathematics.
History: When Rik was a baby he was left behind at an orphanage in Onibas by his mother. All the information she left behind was his name and date of birth, and left despite the supervisor’s request for more data. Of all orphanages in Fiore he couldn’t have ended up in a more pleasant place. The people in Onibas were nice and with the bustling entertainment industry it was never a boring day. The supervisors of the orphanage were also mostly nice people, who aside from keeping the children in line and educating them, generally cared for their wellbeing.
At two years old during the summer time he and the other orphans went to the town’s public swimming pool. He was of course too young to join the older kids and had to stay in the children’s pool under supervision. Much to the amazement of the caretakers he had a natural affinity with water, and managed to swim around wearing floaties. What scared them was that he kept submerging his face in the water, so interested in being under that he would swim to the bottom if the floaties allowed it. They didn’t though and the caretakers told him off for endangering himself and kept a strict eye on him.
As he grew older he made a record for youngest orphan that learned how to swim, getting his swimming certificate at the age of four. Finally allowed to swim without floaties and submerge himself he went to explore the underwater world. In the pool this was nothing spectacular, but there were lakes and rivers in Onibas that he enjoyed to swim in, caring little for hygiene. This was when he first discovered his magic. He wanted to enjoy staying underwater for longer periods of time, so badly that he subconsciously used take over magic to create gills on the sides of his neck. It helped that he had a genetic advantage when it came to this partial take over, since his mother was a water dragon slayer.
When he discovered this he immediately told the caretakers at the orphanage, and was thrilled when they told him he was a mage. He was excited to learn about different kinds of magic and very eager to find out what type of magic he used himself. With the help of one of the caretakers he discovered his magic type was most likely take over, and thus he started studying it and practicing. There were many different take over types though, but he knew his had to be some form of animal type. Thus he practiced several animal types, failing again and again, but that only made him more determined.
He could barely contain himself when he discovered his take over magic was of a dragon type, convinced that he had one of the coolest magic types ever. There was no explanation why he had that type though, he had been at the orphanage since he was a baby and had thus never even been in contact with a real dragon before. But neither he nor the caretakers at the orphanage were experts on magic, so he never even gave it much thought. He just continued to be a happy and healthy young orphan, living an eventful life and at night wonder what it would be like to have parents someday.
Magic
Mage Type: Take Over: Dragon Soul. This unique take over magic can only be used by dragon slayers or their offspring. In general take over magic allows the user to take over the appearance and abilities of creatures they really know, or have touched. If the user doesn’t have enough magical power to maintain their take over they become possessed, a process that becomes irreversible when remaining undefeated for too long. To make the likelihood of possession smaller the user can do a partial take over. Because this take over is of a dragon type, the user will get motion sickness when traveling on any form of non-organic transportation even when using a partial take over.
